Franklin Park Conservatory
Located two miles east of downtown Columbus, Franklin Park Conservatory features plant collections from around the world along with rotating art and nature-based exhibitions. The 83,000 square foot Conservatory sits within historic Franklin Park, and also features the four-acre Scotts Miracle-Gro Community Garden Campus.
Annual exhibitions including Blooms & Butterflies, Holidays at the Conservatory, and The Orchid Forest have established the Conservatory as a destination for school field trips, bus tours, and visitors of all ages. Several installations from the Conservatory's signature collection of Dale Chihuly glass artwork are on view. A working glass Hot Shop operates March through July, and September through December, giving visitors an opportunity to see glass art pieces being created.
Light Raiment II, a light installation by world-renown artist James Turrell illuminates the John F. Wolfe Palm House every evening at dusk. The Victorian-era architecture of this historic building is featured in this program of evolving hues against the night sky.
On premises cafe serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and snacks. The Conservatory's gift shop & greenhouse, Botanica, features gardening accessories, plants, books, gifts, exhibition related merchandise, children's items and Chihuly Studio Edition glass artworks and prints.
Educational programs, plant society shows and sales, and family activities complement the changing exhibitions and plant displays.
